Upon arrival, you will surely notice the European flair of the facade as you make your way to the local limestone portico; a glimpse of what you can expect to find inside. The main level is home to our owner’s quarters and your tastefully decorated breakfast room, including our beloved loose tea library.
Gatekeepers Retreat and personal retreat is conveniently located on Lakeshore Road, directly on the wine route in Old Town Niagara-On-The-Lake
The garden at the back of the house is a lovely place to unwind and relax. At its centre, surrounded by Ivy covered trellises and two more corkscrew willows, the stone terrace is awaits you. Put yourself at ease during your stay with us and feel free to enjoy all our different public spaces.
A short ten minute walk away from our doorsteps, you will find yourself on the breathtaking shore of Lake Ontario.
Breakfast
- Breakfast at Gatekeepers Retreat is a celebration of flavors, local produce and beauty. The three course breakfast begins with an ‘in season’ fruit creation in which local cherries, strawberries, peaches, apricots, pears and much more. The second course is another local flavors experience, but this time with cheeses, spreads and breads.Almond crusted & lavender croissant French toast, Organic egg bake with truffle oil and parmigiano reggiano, Crèpes or pancakes ‘‘aux fruits de saison’’, are just a few examples of what you can expect to find on your plate.

- Library on the mezzanine complete with comfortable wingback chairs, fireplace, flat screen television with cable and an oversized chess table for your enjoyment
- Wellington’s Chamber and Victoria’s Boudoir bedrooms, both complete with their own ensuite bathrooms, are adjacent
- The Regent’s Hermitage is located downstairs off the Persnickety lounge and has its own private living room with direct access to the garden
- The garden at the back of the house is a lovely place to unwind and relax
