Located in the heart of Hilo, this classic, restored plantation home built in 1914, is centrally located close to all the wonderful places to see and experience in Hawai’i’s second largest city!
Surrounded by lush gardens and towering bamboo, the hale (house) is an enchanting oasis with outdoor lanai (porches) for dining and relaxing. Enjoy views of Hilo bay and Hilo town from the wrap around front porch!
The great location makes the hale an ideal “base camp” for your Big Island adventures, that include Akaka Falls, Volcanoes National Park and active Lava flows, Mauna Kea Summit and Visitor’s Center and the Puna coast with black sand beaches and amazing snorkeling.
Breakfast
- A buffet style breakfast is served each morning from 8am to 9am in the kitchen and you are welcome to enjoy your breakfast on the back or front porch or in your room or private lanai (porch). We are famous for our delicious selection of locally grown tropical fruit, including papaya, bananas and pineapple and specialties like french toast that we make from the farm fresh eggs laid by our chickens at the Jungle Farmhouse. Enjoy locally grown and fresh brewed coffees and teas and juices and fresh made pastries and banana bread too. Early or late breakfast is available on request. We also can prepare special vegan, non-glucose and dairy free dishes when requested.

- Guests can use the kitchen anytime and you are welcome to use the refrigerator to store any food items.
- We provide complimentary locally grown teas, filtered water and spices and condiments for cooking
- Blender, microwave, and rice cooker.
- The Lobby is a nice place to relax and enjoy reading a book from our library of books on Hawai’i

- The Laundry Room is on the lower floor and can be used during the day anytime and we provide the soap.
